On the up!

Hey Guys!

Firstly I want to say thank you so much for all your kind words and healing vibes. It has helped a lot knowing that you guys have my back. That is why I love the bike community!

Well, after that last post, things went downhill fast again. I ended up being rushed back into hospital in an ambulance at 4am the next morning after a visit from an emergency doctor. Basically I felt like death and was getting worse. I could hardly stand up and felt so sick and was in a lot of pain.

Within 12 hours of being in hospital being pumped full of yet more fluids I was already feeling better. It later transpired that while in hospital previously I had contracted one of those killer hospital super bugs (C Difficile). and basically it was hitting me while I was down. In the 8 days I spent back at home I had lost another 9lbs in weight, and my body was being drained of all fluids and salts.

I'm home again now after a week of hardcore antibiotics, fluids and mind altering painkillers, and I can finally say that I truly feel like I am on the road to recovery. Each day I am feeling just a little bit stronger and can eat a bit more. Hopefully I will be back on a bike in a couple of months, although will not be able to hit the freeride scene for a long time yet (need more surgery before my body will be able to take the hits).

I am actually really looking forward to getting fit and healthy again, and doing a lot of all day epic all mountain riding in the beautiful highlands of Scotland on the prototype frame I will be receiving soon.

Thanks to everyone who has e-mailed me or left messages for me here. They have meant more to me than you might think!

I also want to wish a fast recovery and send strength and healing vibes to another young member of the Banshee family, Pavel, who is currently bravely fighting cancer. Hold in there mate, we are all thinking of you. Be strong!

Now please please please go out there and ride your bikes and make the most of life if you possibly can!

It is so good to hear that you are on your way back to good health. When I heard you had to be rushed back to the hospital I thought, "jeez, how much more is this poor guy going to have to take!" I'm glad it was something that could be fixed relatively quickly. Having to go through something like that makes you appreciate little things that you take for granted when you're in good health and feeling indestructible.

Pavel, keep fighting. I have a close family member fighting cancer right now and I know it is tough but it can be beaten. Never give up.

Eh Keith,

I am really glad to hear that you are feeling better and out of the hospital. It is good to see that you are in good spirits.

I went for a ride today on my Banshee and worked on the trails and could not help but think of you hoping you were doing better than the last time we heard about your condition.

I am sure you will adapt and recover well in time.

All the best,

Dean

finally some good news from the K man!!

damn those UK hospitals...its the germs you pick up during your stay that do the real damage, not the surgery or procedure itself!!

"All-Mtn" is the new Freeride for sure so you will have a blast, and I am sure your new S******e proto frame is going to be a great rig to get you back on the road to 100% strength and fitness

cheers!

Fantastic news Keith!!

It's great to hear that things are looking better.

Rolling around the Scottish highlands on any of your creations would be some serious healing in itself!

You'll be back on the trails before you know it. ;)

Dave.

Good to hear you are better. I was a bit worried: I am not exactly a kid any more but I may still need another tough hardtail during my lifetime :D

Take it easy. Clearly this is no piece of cake.

Hey Keith, sad to hear that your last weeks went sooo bad, but it´s nice to hear that things turn out better and better, even in small steps!
Most important that the ones you love stand besides and support you!!!
Let me say: Don´t force things too much, you´ve lost weight and strenth and it will take it´s time to get back to what health used to be. Let´s hope you will be back on the stage as soon as possible, Rockstar ;-)

Healing vibes and all the best to you!

Hey Keith,

Good to hear things are on the up at last! I'm looking forward to seeing crazy clips of you back flipping into foam pits and what not on the web again.

Those highlands wont know what's hit them when your back on it - would be good to come up and ride them with you some time (even after a while out of the saddle you'll still make me look like an amature!)

Best of british,

Andy Kyte
